Art Studio/Photography/Dance (Fall 2009)

The elements that go into making a great travel photograph unique and compelling no matter the subject can at first glance seem illusive. Identify how timing, lighting, weather and mastering basic camera techniques can dramatically improve your travel photographs. In this hands-on workshop, not only will you have in-the-field walking photography demonstrations in the Newport Beach harbor area, but practice how to create a cultural portrait of any destination by successfully capturing images in a number of categories, including, architecture, people, humor, markets, food and drink, landmarks and street scenes. The variety of images brought home should provide the foundation for an interesting and compelling storytelling presentation to friends and family. Must provide own transportation to and from field trip location and some walking is required. Equipment prerequisite: must own or have access to digital point and shoot or digital SLR camera with media. Film type camera is not recommended. Refund deadline one week prior to start date.
